Photos of Berlin, between monuments, zoo and museums

A young capital, steeped in history

Berlin is a young capital, in movement, which has the keys for the Europe of the future: all the trends of post-modernity abound, a lot of plastic art and cinema, but also architecture, music, theater, dance… We discover many museums containing world-famous works, so much so that a part of these museums was gathered on the museuminsel, the famous island dedicated to the museums. From the Pergamonmuseum to the Neues Museum and the baroque Bode Museum, Berlin’s millions of annual visitors are offered a unique complex that is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

But wherever you go during your trip to Berlin, the past is omnipresent. The Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie and the remains of the Wall are all reminders of the weight of history. The visitor will therefore be overwhelmed by so much diversity but also by the astonishing welcome of the Berliners and Germans in general. Happy and full of life, the city knows how to celebrate and show a new and optimistic face turned towards the future.
