Oy-Mittelberg is located in the central Allgäu, a region in southern Bavaria close to the Austrian border. Between 800 and 1150 meters above sea level, Oy-Mittelberg invites you to spend a relaxing vacation with its beautiful and exotic views. It is like taking a front row seat in the Alpine cinema with mountains and lakes, castles and numerous festivals and events.

The “Moosaikreich” in Oy-Mittelberg is an attractive nature experience that can be discovered on foot or by bike. It is a program for the protection of the peat bogs and their biodiversity, which is promoted to visitors who can discover many natural treasures. Through guided tours, knowledge is transmitted in a playful way and the links between the natural landscape and climate protection become understandable.

More than anything, Oy-Mittelberg is an ideal starting point for numerous hikes and mountain excursions. From playful and easy hikes to others requiring more experience are to be undertaken around the Rottachsee and Grüntensee as well as to the Schwarzenberger and Sticher ponds. All hikes are well signposted and the guest cards entitle you to free unforgettable excursions.

The visit to Oy-Mittelberg was made on August 11, 2015.
