During your stay in San Diego, take a walk along the Sunset Cliffs, red sandstone cliffs rising some 100 feet above the Pacific Ocean. They stretch for about 8 kilometers along San Diego’s south coast, from La Jolla to Point Loma. The cliffs are a popular spot for hikers, photographers and sunset enthusiasts. They offer spectacular views of the ocean, the city of San Diego and the Coronado Peninsula. And don’t miss the sea caves and rock arches near the beach. Sunset Cliffs Nature Park is an important habitat for wildlife, including sea lions, seals, birds and reptiles. To visit it, bring good shoes and water, and stick to the marked trails.
