The Parc de la Chute Montmorency is located a few minutes from Quebec City. Between river and cliffs, it is one of the most spectacular sites in the province. With its 83 meters height, 30 meters higher than Niagara Falls, the imposing Montmorency Falls dominates the landscape. You can discover it on foot, by cable car or from the Manoir Montmorency.

Through the walkway along the cliff, you will reach the hanging bridge which offers an excellent view. Return to the foot of the waterfall via the 487-step panoramic staircase. Three via ferrata courses are also offered as well as a 300-meter double zip line.

This waterfall is the result of a normal fault. It puts in contact the rocks of the Grenville and those of the St. Lawrence Platform. It is considered a vestige of the time when the region was located at the edge of a continental margin, i.e. during the Paleozoic era.

The visit to the Chute Montmorency was made on September 9, 2017.
