Cambodia is a country to dream about: the intoxicating beauty of its landscapes is matched only by the bewitching smiles of its inhabitants, for whom a warm welcome is not an empty word. From the bustling capital of Phnom Penh to the mountains of northern Ratanakiri, from the paradise of the Koh Rong islands to the majestic temples of Angkor, Cambodia conceals a thousand secrets that cannot be discovered in a single trip.
Bruised by three decades of war, the country has now turned a page in its history and is opening up to the world. Family and tradition are the two main pillars of Cambodian society. Families tend to live together under the same roof, bringing together several generations. Most Cambodians like to get together for festivals, during which many land and water spirits are honored. They also show great respect for nature; many make a living from farming and fishing, thanks in particular to the Tonle Sap lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, which provides abundant fish and irrigates crops.
Life in Cambodia has been discovered on numerous trips since 2008.
