Visiting the insides of Las Vegas casinos can be an incredible experience, so much luxury, extravagance and originality have been the watchwords for their design. Some casinos, such as Resort World Las Vegas, opened in 2021, cost billions of dollars to build. As you stroll along the Strip, you’ll admire the monumental architecture, reminiscent of the world’s most famous tourist destinations (Paris, New York, Venice, Egypt…). But under no circumstances should you miss the inside of these casinos which, in addition to more than 160,000 slot machines and countless gaming tables, offer shows and exhibitions, often free of charge.
When you enter the Bellagio, the entrance hall sets the tone: the ceiling is adorned with a work by Dale Chihuly made of 2,000 hand-blown glass flowers. A little further on, the botanical garden, cultivated to the rhythm of the seasons, features real plants in the immense 15 m-high glass roof. At Luxor, the atmosphere is resolutely Egyptian, with fountains, sculptures, hieroglyphs and more. In the pyramid, don’t miss the elevators, which ascend at an angle – it’s disconcerting. Last but not least, the Luxor offers an exhibition on the Titanic, with authentic objects. The Venetian is a life-size replica of the Italian city of Venice. Inside, gondolas navigate the canals in the center of pedestrian walkways. St. Mark’s Square has been faithfully recreated, with its luxury boutiques and Italian restaurants. An Italian ice-cream stand is located in the center of the square, and Venetian carnival shows are organized on certain evenings. The ceilings of the aisles are painted with blue skies, creating a sense of emptiness and disorientation. In the other Las Vegas casinos, there are also astonishing reconstructions or creations to discover.
The Las Vegas casinos were visited on April 5, 2023.
