The Trondheim Museum of Fine Arts, or Trondheim kunstmuseum in Norwegian, is one of the city’s major cultural institutions, offering a fascinating overview of Norwegian and international art. It is distinguished by its dual identity, presenting both historical works and contemporary creations. The museum houses a rich permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, drawings and installations. In particular, there is a significant collection of works by Norwegian artists from the 19th and 20th centuries, providing an insight into the evolution of art in the country. You can admire emblematic Norwegian landscapes, portraits and genre scenes.
